The Tamil Media Scholarship, offered by SPH Media and supported by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), provides a unique opportunity for young individuals committed to shaping the future of Tamil media. Scholarship Details

Eligibility Criteria

  • Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Strong proficiency in the Tamil language
  • Strong academic record in Junior College / Polytechnic / International Baccalaureate, or other equivalent qualifications
  • A genuine interest in news, current affairs, and media
  • Strong communication and written language skills
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities through Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) and National Service (if applicable)

Financial Support

  • Tuition & Fees: Full coverage for tuition and all compulsory university fees.*
  • Allowance: Monthly maintenance stipend provided.
  • Grant: One-time grant for university-related expenses.

    *For mid-term applicants, tuition and other compulsory fees incurred before the award will be back paid.

Post-Graduation Opportunity

Begin your career with SPH Media: Upon graduation, scholars join under a service bond, gaining hands-on experience and developing their skills in a dynamic media environment.

  • Scholars will complete a 2-year secondment with MDDI’s Translation Department (TD) during the initial period of their bond.
  • After the secondment, scholars continue their bond with SPH Media in Tamil Murasu, aligned with business needs and career aspirations.
