Overall Purpose of the Job

Do you love the arts? We do too, and we are looking for a dynamic Arts & Culture Writer for our national publication to write engaging reviews, features, and profiles on visual arts, literature and theater. You will report on national trends, interview prominent and emerging artists and curators, and deliver compelling storytelling for our digital and print readers.

Key Responsibilities

• Pitch and write original cultural criticism, deep-dive features, and timely news pieces.
• Interview artists, authors and cultural leaders.
• Cover major national exhibitions, book releases, festivals, and live performances.
• Collaborate with editors and visual teams to shape multimedia packages.
• Monitor cultural trends and audience engagement metrics.

Required Qualifications

• Three to ten years of professional journalism or cultural criticism experience.
• Exceptional writing skills with a distinct voice.
• Deep knowledge of contemporary arts, history and culture.
• Strong network of contacts in the arts community.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
