Key Responsibilities

• Report, write and produce accurate, compelling sports news, features and commentaries for print and digital platforms;
• Stay ahead of breaking sports developments and identify stories that resonate with audiences;
• Cover a wide range of sports topics, including local and international sporting events, athletes, and trends;
• Translate complex sports developments into engaging, reader-friendly Chinese content;
• Adapt and optimise content for digital and social media platforms to increase audience engagement;
• Collaborate closely with editorial teams to deliver timely, impactful and high-quality journalism;
• Support multimedia storytelling through photography, video filming and editing where relevant.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Journalism, Media, Chinese Studies or a related discipline. Prior experience in journalism or news reporting is preferred, though candidates with a strong portfolio and demonstrated passion for sports journalism are welcome to apply;
• Effectively bilingual in English and Chinese, with strong written and spoken communication skills. Ability to craft accurate, engaging and nuanced Chinese content is essential;
• Strong passion for sports and a keen interest in local and international sports news and current affairs;
• Digitally savvy with familiarity in social media platforms and an understanding of audience engagement trends;
• Experience in photography, videography and video editing will be an added advantage;
• A curious, resourceful and self-driven individual with strong news instincts and storytelling abilities;
• Able to thrive under pressure, work independently and collaborate effectively within a dynamic newsroom environment;
• Adaptable and comfortable with irregular working hours, including coverage of sporting events when required.
